Whatcha Up To, Coffee?! – #18

A weekly status update from everyone’s favourite caffeinated weirdo.

Hey everyone! It’s Coffee and it’s time for more Games with Coffee.

OK, it’s been a heck of a long time since I’ve written one of these. My apologies for this. Life just got in the way, really. But, I’m back with some more big updates. Also, Happy Birthday Sonic!!!!! I’m so glad he’s in my life. Anyway, here’s whatcha boi’s been up to recently:

Whatcha Playin’, Coffee?

Unsurprisingly, I’ve been playing Tears of the Kingdom. Between my last entry and today, I’ve completed all of the main quests and now, I have to find Ganondorf and finish him off. Except, I’m instead hunting for the rest of the shrines, picking up rare items to upgrade my armour, finishing off side quests and adventures and exploring The Depths in detail.

I’ve also dabbled with my Genesis Mini 2 and it is a neat system with a lot of hidden gems on it! I’m looking forward to diving deep into some of the more obscure titles for this system.

Whatcha Writin’, Coffee?

Chapter 29: Rose’s Story

Chapter 30: A Hidden Agenda

Chapter 31: The Former Freedom Fighters

Chapter 32: Infiltration

Chapter 33: The Wizard of Genetics

And the full chapter list is here.

It’s slowed down again, but I’m starting to pick things back up. Plenty of chapters in Book 2 are original, and so there’s a lot of planning that has to go into these, more than what I’ve outlined originally. Things will pick up once I start referencing the script again, which will be soon. At least we hit 25K! The goal right now is to hit 35K by the end of the month. Totally doable!

Whatcha Watchin’, Coffee?

We picked up the Super Mario Bros. Movie earlier this month and have been repeatedly watching it. It’s a fun one. The whole family enjoyed it, even Little Macchiato!

How’s Trainin’, Coffee?

The definition is starting to come in! It was Father’s Day last weekend when I truly noticed the change in my physique. My confidence has been soaring since. My end goal for summer is to work my way up to the 16KG setting on my kettlebell. I’m currently at the 11KG (25 lb), but I’m slowly getting to the point where I need to increase it. Except for my shoulders, I just hit the 25 lb mark for single-arm shoulder presses.

Whatcha Creatin’, Coffee?

The Genesis Mini 2 stream was a lot of fun to do! I have so many games to play on that system alone! I feel like I’m gonna have tons of content for a long time coming.

Sonic Central was today, and while there were a lot of reminders for upcoming content, there were no major announcements for new titles. And that’s totally fine! We’re getting Lego Sonic in Superstars, Season 2 of Sonic Prime (on my birthday, no less!), new dates for the Sonic Symphony (of which my brother and I are definitely going to) and some neat DLC for Sonic Frontiers. I’ll stream that content next week!

Speaking of streaming, I’ve been making clips of my previous broadcasts to share. It’s all part of trying to improve my internal Locus of Control; that is, relying on internal factors to grow my streams, as opposed to relying on external factors. That means posting more clips on social media, being more active on Twitch and uploading content to YouTube. Little by little, it will all get done.

And that’s all for this update. Hopefully, I can return to a regular schedule for next week. Until then, thanks for reading and I’ll see you in the next update!
