Hey everyone! It’s Coffee and it’s time for more Games with Coffee.
Lots of work stuff. Tears of the Kingdom. Writing, writing, writing… It’s been a ride these past two weeks. So much so, that the update is way behind schedule, which is why I’m combining them into one big update post. Here’s whatcha boi’s been up to:
Whatcha Playin’, Coffee?
The last two weeks were dedicated to one thing: Tears of the Kingdom. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the game so far. Once writing obligations were more or less fulfilled, I managed to put a ton of time into it. Between The Depths and the Sky Archipelagos, hunting down shrines, filling out the map, testing out my new abilities, getting my horses back and navigating this new, yet familiar world has been one of many highlights.
Another highlight is the seemingly infinite amount of ways you can build stuff in this game. I kid you not, it’s incredible what you can create. The game actively encourages you to think outside the box and stretch your creative muscles. The fact that the physics engine is so well put together and that it runs so smoothly, you forget for a moment that you’re playing this on a 7-year-old console.
So far, I’ve finished part of the main quest by investigating Rito Village and completing the Wind Temple. I’m now hunting down the Geoglyphs while filling out the rest of my above-ground map. I’ve dabbled in The Depths from time to time, but haven’t explored them to the fullest, save for picking up the Autobuild ability.

TotK has impacted the writing significantly, but I still managed to make it to the 20K word mark. We’re 10% done! Originally, Chapter 7 was going to be a long one, but I’ve since separated it into two. I should be starting the pursuit arc of the story around chapter 11 or so. I wanted to show some scenes where the team has to earn money for supplies and equipment while reflecting on Tails’ story. I also aim to advance the subplot that underpins the entirety of the second book.
Whatcha Watchin’, Coffee?
Komi Can’t Communicate. I’ve just been binging the heck out of it. Other than that, I’ve been so focused on TotK and writing that I just don’t watch too much TV.
How’s Trainin’, Coffee?
I’ll forgo the routines this week but know that I’ve been hard at work. I can actually see some definition on my body. Too bad it’s covered by all this fat, but no worries. Rome wasn’t built in a day, so the same adage applies to my body.
Cutting is pretty tough, but I am seeing some results despite my lack of consistency with it.
Whatcha Creatin’, Coffee?
Back-to-back TotK streams these past two weeks and they were fun! I enjoy this alternating schedule thing, it’s been refreshing. I’ll have to update my bios though, but once-a-week streams are a thing that will stay permanently. It almost feels like I’m going back to basics here like it was back in 2020 when I first started streaming.
YouTube beckons me. I need to get my butt moving on uploading content. I think the coming week will be prime time for me to do that since I’ve hit a quiet lull period at work.
